Luigi Vs. Pac
How the hell did this (iTunes link) get approved? I say it stays in the store no more than a few days, so long as the tech media doesn’t catch on.
George Lucas in Love
I don’t know how I’ve missed this for so long, but I have.
Your iPhone Icon is Wrong
A simple web page that points out what makes an iPhone icon look bad. Which is normally a black edge around them.
Composition from Cocoia
A great idea coming from one of my favorite designers, Sebastiaan de With. Can’t wait.
Speaking of Circuit City
An electronics retailer I’ve never heard of is moving into a local abandonned Circuit City store. That retailer is hhgreg.
They also say this isn’t the first Circuit City location they’ve taken over.
Circuit City Back Online
After shelling out some $6.5 million, you had to know that Systemax planned on doing something with Circuit City’s trademarks and internet domain names. As of today, CircuitCity.com is back and better than ever, carrying on the legacy of a name that became synonymous with overpriced consumer electronics for nearly six decades. Of course, this doesn’t mean that any Circuit City retail stores will be re-opening, but at least the brand is living on in the world wide web. The wonders of the internet: I Can Has Cheezburger?, Twitter and the continuation of an icon that would otherwise be six feet underground.
I’m glad to see it, I always liked Circuit City over Best Buy anyway. Just wish they still had stores.
Graduation
I graduated from high school today. That’s all.
Yeah, that netbook, e-book reader thingy…
Digitimes reports that Wintek has been selected as the LCD panel module supplier for “Apple’s upcoming e-book form factor netbook product”.
A rumor so sketchy I wouln’t even post it for Mactropolis. The part that really gets me is the quote. Phrased so veage that it could be anything recent rumors have suggested Apple is working on.
Kumo
Who cares? Microsoft hasn’t done anything new in it’s entire exsistance. They monopolized the OS market in the 90’s as a “good enough” cheap alternative to the Mac. They’re trying to do the same thing with search, and they’re getting their ass handed to them.
Nobodies, eh?
A hack job of an article. Uninformed, sloppy, biased, and featers an undercurrent of contempt. Mrs. Hesse almost comes across as if she is jealous of the “nobodies” she references. I, like John Gruber, feel as if Mrs. Hesse won’t be employed for much longer. Besides, she was getting really aggressive over an otherwise silly subject. Twitter.
John Gruber's New iPhone
I don’t disagree with a single thing on the list. Except for one.
I can’t see Apple beefing up the CPU for the upcoming iPhone simply because it could potentially cause confusion in the AppStore. What I mean by that is, the AppStore will only have been open a year when the next iPhone is projected to launch. That means you will have developers jump on board in a hurry and intorduce applications solely designed for the faster iPhone. These apps will more than likey not be backwards compatible and if they are, they won’t run as well as they should on the previous two iPhone models.
Apple could section off these apps in the store, yes, but that could cause a rift and add to confusion.
I’m more than likely wrong, Gruber is better informed than me. Besides, smarter people than me have been paid good money to sit down and think this out. I just hope they avoid confusion.
The Fucking Weather
It’s Fucking nice here in Evansville.
What is the color of the Internet?
Great article summerizing the color of the internet, in serveral catagories.
Macs at Walmart?
According to this rumor at AppleInsider, Walmart is preparing to sell Macs. They may very well be looking into it. It won’t fly.
Snapper had to pull out of Walmart due to poor sales. Snapper is a premium lawnmower manufacturer, thus they cost a bit more. People aren’t willing to spend more in a store that is based around lower prices.
Apple products (Macs in particular) have the public perception of costing more. If Walmart were to try and sell Macs, I would bet Walmart would be disipointed.
Besides, I don’t believe Apple would want to assosicate it’s brand with (tight-ass) Walmart anymore than it already has with iPod and iPhone.
Software to Differentiate iPhone Models?
No. Apple has a track record of offering a single version of there software at a time (look at Leopard). Microsoft has done the opposite and confused the market with serveral versions of their software over the years (look at vista). While I’m at it, the Register is a load of shit.
Why Computers Suck at Math
I feel better now knowing I’m not the only thing that sucks at math.
Sherlock Holmes better not suck…
Trailer for Sherlock Holmes starring Robert Downey Jr. It better not suck.
Guilty Cocker Spaniels
Second song of the new single, “Satellite Skin” due out May 26th. I can’t wait.
In case you missed it here is the “Satellite Skin” music video.
The wind in their sails
It appears at least one of Microsoft’s “Laptop Hunters” ads was staged. The give away? The clouds.
You see, at the 5 second mark we see the girls outside listing what it is they are hoping to find on their laptop hunt, followed by the girls entering the store, conducting a full shopping session with the duo looking at every laptop Best Buy has, then deciding the Mac is far too expensive, and ultimately choosing a Windows laptop. This is then followed by a shot back out in the parking lot of the girls hugging with joy as they are handed their reward money for a job well done. And guess what? The clouds and cars in the background do not seem to have moved an inch in all that time.
Oops. That means there was no wind, or the girls celebrated before they “shopped”. Imagine that, Microsoft staging something to look good.
How much does the Death Star cost?
Someone sat down and thought too much about this.
Red Dell XPS 16 found in the wild?
My question to you. Who gives a shit?
Microsoft's big-ass table gets Service Pack 1
In all seriousness, I didn’t know these things exsisted in the wild.
Why Lightsaber Fights Sucked in the Original Trilogy
Great video explaining the differences between the prequel and original Star Wars trilogies lightsaber duels.
Background Process
Between a post by John Gruber and this article, it appears Apple is at least looking at thrid-party backgroud processes running on the iPhone. The only thing that can be agreed upon amongst these rumors, is the number of processes will be limited (one or two).
